Effective Collaboration in International Settings

International project collaboration can be an effective way to build competitive advantage, achieve cost benefits and gain access to intellectual property that drives product innovation.  However, while the gains can be huge, many projects fail because of poor alignment and cross-cultural tension.  To realize the benefits, companies must master effective collaboration in international settings.  The success of cross-cultural projects depends on skilled management and extensive and informed communication.  Because cultural differences are often both subtle and substantial, a lack of preparation frequently results in the friction and poor cooperation that cause projects to fail.

This highly interactive workshop lays the foundation for the  Managing Projects Across BordersSM  program.  It will provide you with effective cross-cultural leadership tools and methods that help ensure success in international collaborative projects.  You will understand why projects fail and learn about best practices for successful cross-cultural project management.  The interactive workshop format includes lecture, case examples from several cultures, many exercises, and facilitated Q&A.
