Workshops

The  Managing Projects Across BordersSM series provides education and practice in the leadership and management competencies critical for success in international projects.

These workshops are tailored for different groups working in international project settings, helping them raise their competency levels:

   MIP:Managing International Projects
2 or 3 days (public or in-house):  Critical cultural differences; virtual international team challenges; effective team communication; project initiation and execution; best project management practices; conflict prevention and/or resolution.
 
   NIP:    Negotiating and Working with International
Customers, Suppliers, and Partners

3 days (public or in-house):  Expectations and acceptable behaviors; critical cultural differences; establishing productive relationships; influence strategies; negotiation; decision processes; rules and best practices; conflict management.
 
   LIP:Leading International Project Organizations
4 days (in-house only):  Understanding and adapting to critical cultural differences; organizational culture and personal leadership skills; influence and conflict management; effective resource management.

Each of our Workshops and Online Classes earns PDU credits, issued by ® PMI, the Project Management Institute, Inc.
 

Through our affiliation with Abyss Program Management LLC, we provide a comprehensive series of Project Risk Management Workshops. The AbyssPM risk management workshop series is a learning track consisting of four workshops. Risk management is an extremely critical component of project management startup and turnaround. It crosses all project disciplines and project phases and is key to success. Abyss Program Management provides a learning track of workshops to develop our clients’ capabilities in project risk management.

   RMF:    IT Risk Management Fundamentals
   ARA:Advanced IT Risk Analysis - Risk Budgeting
   ARM:Advanced IT Risk Management Case Study workshop
   RMP:IT Risk Management Planning

All four workshops can be provided in a single week of intense instruction involving lecture, exercises and workshops all revolving around a realistic integrated case study. Abyss Program Management has developed an Excel based program control register, providing logs for threats, opportunities, assumptions, decisions, issues and change control. All examples and workshops utilize this program control register to provide a more realistic experience.
 
Subsets of the four workshop track can be configured to meet specific client needs, to include utilizing client project data for intact teams.
 
Students with their PMP certification(s) who take the full learning track can receive 39.5 PDUs.
